You might want to keep this accomplishment to yourself...

"My ultimate goal is to become a doctor, but since I was not able to get into medical school I would like to work for your company."
Everyone loves to be second choice...

"I am nown for my close attention to detail."
No comment...

"My boss says I am a kick in the pants and loves working with me."
We really don't want any kicking at our company...

"I have extensive experience with Windows programs such as Paint."
I guess if you are applying to play on the computer...

"I have an excellent track record, although I am not a horse."
That's too bad. We were looking to hire a horse to do our accounting...

"Don't take the comments of my former employers too seriously. They don't know what they are talking about."
I can't wait to have you work for me...

Remember...don't just spell check your letter. You need to READ it, slowly and carefully, before sending it. In fact, have someone else read it slowly and carefully. The last thing you want to end your cover letter with is, "hope to hear from you shorty."
